About

ABOUT

Sabine Schiffer has been working in the international art market for more than 15 years. Before founding SCHIFFER ART CONSULTING, she served as a gallery director for many years, collaborating closely with internationally established artists, collectors, galleries, and museums, and representing galleries at major art fairs in Europe and the United States.

As a consultant and curator, she has worked with the European Central Bank’s art collection, among other projects. She also serves as a VIP ambassador for the international art fair Frieze in Germany.

She combines her experience in art history and curation with in-depth market knowledge and an international network. This experience across various facets of the art market continues to shape her work to this day. She has developed a deep understanding not only of the market’s structures and dynamics, but also of what makes a collection—beyond individual works—interesting, relevant, and exceptional in the long term. Her consulting services are independent, personalized, and dedicated exclusively to the interests of her clients.

Sabine Schiffer studied art history and literature at the University of Cologne and earned a Master of Arts degree.

SELECTED CURATORIAL & INSTITUTIONAL PROJECTS

In addition to this institutional collaboration, my own curatorial work is another focal point of my career. Together with Dr. Reiner Speck, I curated “Broodthaers, Mallarmé et les autres” in 2022 at the Michael Werner Gallery in Cologne and Berlin. Most recently, I co-curated “Cy Twombly – Reiner Speck: Fragments of an Adoration” for Maison d’Art in Los Angeles.

Selected Exhibitions

Working closely with gallery owners, artists, and institutions, I have helped organize and bring to fruition numerous international exhibition projects. These include Anne Imhof’s “Faust” at the German Pavilion of the Venice Biennale (2017, curated by Susanne Pfeffer), “Sex” at the Tanks at Tate Modern in London (2019), and the Markus Lüpertz retrospective at the Museum of Modern Art in Moscow (2021).
